Chris Walters Obituary

Chris Edward Walters, 58, of Conneautville, formerly of Monongahela, died Thursday, January 2, 2025 in UPMC Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born July 12, 1966 in New Eagle, a son of the late Charles R. Walters, Sr. and Dorothy Shook Walters.


Chris was a 1984 graduate of Ringgold High School and obtained his teaching degree in chemistry from California University of Pennsylvania. He was employed as a chemistry teacher at Conneaut School District from 1993 until his retirement in 2024.  Chris enjoyed going to his camp, hunting, fishing, and playing poker. He loved spending time with his dog, Jake.


He is survived by his sister, Cathy (Richard) Koontz, of New Eagle; brother, Eric (Laryjean) Walters, of Monongahela; eight nieces and nephews, Sequoia Edwards, Brianna Coleman, Richard Koontz, Jr., Dawn Stancato, Stonilynn Walters, Amanda Lyndi Hackney, Fred Vitale, Jr., and Eric Walters, Jr.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Barbara Coleman, Charles R. Walters, Jr., and Shawn Walters.


Friends will be received on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 12-1 PM in Frye Funeral Home, where a memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Jude Urso officiating. Interment will be at a later date in the Monongahela Cemetery.


The family would like to extend an invitation to a luncheon following the memorial service.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Frye Funeral Home to help the family defray funeral expenses.

Cathy and Eric...It brings such sadness to learn of Chris's passing. Although it's been so many years since I have seen him, memories remain strong. The little ring bearer in my wedding. That sweet little boy. May his soul rest in Peace.
