O'MEARA, Maev Kathleen

5 March 1928 - 4 April 2020

Maev died peacefully on 4th April, 2020, surrounded by family and her beloved classical music.

Wife of John (deceased); Mother to Maeve and Matthew; mother in law to Penny; grandmother to Conor, Kitty, Lachlan, Scarlett (Carli) and Maddie; great grandmother to Arabella. She welcomed partners Toufic and Mae into the family.

Maev was a journalist at the Sydney Morning Herald from the 1950s. She travelled the world and inspired her children and grandchildren to use their talents. A powerful advocate of a good education, she cherished good writing, poetry and music. Her life was marked by caring and compassion and a great sense of fun.

She made the world a better place. Her outlook on life is summed up by one of her favourite phrases "Isn't that marvellous!"
