A celebration of life service for Ms. Rosa Johnson who passed on December 8, 2024, will be held on Saturday December 14, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29th Street, Tampa, Florida with Rev. W. D. Sims, Officiating. Interment will follow in Orange Hill Cemetery, 4900 E. Chelsea Street, Tampa, Florida. The remains will be viewed at the service on Saturday.
Mrs. Rosa Johnson was born on April 29, 1920, to the parentage of Cleve and Mary Ann Moss in Holopaw, Florida. Rosa attended the public schools in Osceola County. Ms. Rosa met James Johnson and later were joined in holy matrimony on March 5, 1938, in Osceola County, Florida.
Ms. Rosa loved to cook and make homemade sweet potato pies on special occasions. She loved going to church. Rosa was a member of Mt. Olive M.B. C. Church under the late Rev. C. P. Epps until she was unable to attend due to her health at 104 years old.
Mrs. Rosa Johnson was preceded in death by her, parents, Cleve and Mary Ann Moss; brothers, George Moss, Henry Moss and Johnny McCoy; sisters, Bessie Pallard and Willie Mae Suggs; granddaughters, Gina Smith and Michelle Green.
Rosa is survived by 5 children, Edna Hardy, Mary Limehouse, Minnie Green, Dwight Denson and Charles Simpson, Jr. (Mese); stepdaughter, Clydie Mae and her daughter Joanne; grandchildren, Robbie Johnson (Christine), Lindsey Hardy, Jr., Leonard Limehouse, Jr. (Natasha), Ella Mae Limehouse, Alton Limehouse (Norma), Neicy Limehouse (Peacock), Devon Simpson (Cindy), Tommy Simpson (Jessica), Demetrius Simpson (Anique), Rene Hollman (Jay), Tamara Green, Larry Green, Jr., Oren Denson (Timee); a host of other grandchildren and great grandchildren; niece, Irene Brown; special friends and neighbors, Dana Judge, Kelani Phelps, Debbie, Rodolfo James (Sandra) and James Akins (Angie); a host of other relatives and friends.
