Ricky Bierlein Obituary

Ricky W. Bierlein

Loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on Friday, September 20, 2024; age 65 years. Ricky was born on May 16, 1959 to the late Gerald and Frances Bierlein. He was married to Ellen Toyzan on September 28, 1995; she survives him.

Ricky enjoyed playing basketball for Frankenmuth High School before graduating in 1977. He was an accomplished licensed builder who worked for many years with William Schultz Builders before branching out to become self-employed and a sub-contractor. Ricky was a lifelong member of St Lorenz Lutheran Church.  He enjoyed fishing in Canada with family and friends at Sample Lake and with his wife at Rice Lake.  He was an avid fan of Detroit Lions football, Tigers baseball, and NCAA March Madness.  Most of all Ricky loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Ricky was welcomed into heaven by his parents, his brother Darwin, his in-laws Steve and Kay Toyzan, his sisters-in-law Julie (Toyzan) Wade and Susan (Toyzan) Lawe, best friend Greg Scharrer, and godson Travis Bierlein.

My deepest sympathy for Rick's family. That'll be some Euchre game...

We are so sad to hear about Rick... such a great person and so young to be taken. Our prayers are with you all. But it did put a smile on my face to think that Gregg and Randy would be welcoming him into heaven... And I bet the Lord is smiling at this motley crew also. Just think... divine Euchre.
