Ann Frederick Obituary

Ann Marie Frederick, a retired Accounts Receiving Clerk with the state of Louisiana, entered eternal rest

on October 27, 2024, at home with family. She was 79 years old.

Ann was born in Davant, La on February 26, 1945, to the late John Antoine and Emelda Frederick. She

was the mother of Shelly Martin and Adrian Matute (Erin). She was the only sister of the late Robert (Bob)

Frederick, John Frederick (Dianne), Patrick Frederick, and Anthony Charles Frederick (Jaqueline).

Ann was the doting and loving grandmother to Courtney Martin, Brandon Martin, Ja'Von Adams, Nialah,

Adrienne, and Jaiden Matute. Great Grandmother, affectionately known as "GiGi" to Amina, Ja'Von Jr.,

Jaxson, and Jaychon Adams; and especially Rylan Martin who kept her on her toes daily. She also

leaves to mourn her passing, her cousin/sister Rachel Marshall. They were inseparable until she

relocated to Houston, Texas. Her Goddaughter Iris Parker, whom she Loved deeply and always

considered Iris as her first child. She also adored her nieces and nephews and always looked forward to

seeing them even if she fussed about the pop-up visits.

Ann cherished her time with family and always looked forward to spending time with them. She loved the

holidays and believed in cooking traditional dinners for the family, with no exceptions. She made sure her

GiGi's had Easter baskets with dyed eggs and a chocolate bunny, Halloween baskets, and always had to

leave the cookies and milk out for Santa. Decorations for Christmas were a must. She also loved to travel,

especially cruising any and every chance she had. She was an excellent seamstress and loved to read

romance novels for many years until her eyesight began fading.

In Ann's later years, her favorite TV show was the Cooking Channel. She would stay up late hours in the

night watching. In the morning, she would tell Shelly she saw a dish she wanted to make but would forget

what it was and expect someone to find it.

Anyone who knew Ann knew she was the life of the party, spoke loudly, loved to laugh, and made every

day important. She will be truly missed.
