Adelia (Cordova) Sisneros July 10, 1929 – June 25, 2025
Adelia Sisneros, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at her home on June 25, 2025, at the age of 95.
Born on July 10, 1929, in Mora, New Mexico, Adelia grew up surrounded by the traditions and values of her parents Daniel and Cleotilde (Velasquez) Cordova, that would guide her throughout a long and beautiful life.
One of fourteen children and preceded in death by: Celina, Daniel, Tobias, Chenco, Sinfo, Emma, Chavela, Delores, Sista, Toby. Survived by: Stella, Nancy and Marcella.
Adelia was raised and attended school in Mora where she later married the love of her life, Benito Sisneros, on May 13, 1946. Their enduring partnership was a shining example of love, devotion, and family until Benito’s death on February 10, 1983.
In 1957, Adelia and Benito made the courageous move to Denver, Colorado, where they purchased a home and raised their eleven children with unwavering faith and strength.
She is survived by her seven daughters and four sons: Virginia (Apolonio) Vargas, Mary (Ben) Lujan, Bobby (Yvonne) Sisneros, Martha (Steve) Federico, Lorenzo (Toni) Sisneros, Geraldine Grauer, Delores (Jerry) Medina, James (Pauline) Sisneros, Rosie (Joseph) Ortega, Ernie (Delma) Sisneros, and Annette (John) Gravage.
Adelia was the proud grandmother of 26 grandchildren: Ruth Sherrill, the late Jimmy Krisfalusi, Anna Jones, Marlene Leonard, Joey Lujan, Bobby Sisneros Jr., Lisa Garcia, Steve Federico, Ronnie Federico, Shelly Eliason, Sherry Magnuson, Shawna Sisneros, Lorenzo Sisneros Jr., Tony Sisneros, Kathy Rodriguez, Sherri Medina, Karen Montoya, Renee Johnson, Santiago Sisneros, Denise Sisneros, Anthony Sisneros, Joylene Baker, Frankie Baker, Ernie Sisneros Jr., Michael Gravage, and Jordan Gravage.
She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense pride and joy.
Adelia’s life was a testament to faith, resilience, compassion, and the quiet strength of motherhood. Her warmth filled every room, and her legacy will continue through the generations of family she lovingly guided.
A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be given 10:00am, Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 7595 N. Federal Blvd, Westminster, CO 80030. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30am, also at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 12801 W. 44th Avenue in Wheat Ridge, CO.
