Arturo Pena Obituary

Arturo Perez Peña passed away peacefully surrounded by love, his family and loved ones on December 30, 2025, in Denver, Colorado. Arturo was born to Porfirio Perez and Matilde Peña on December 16, 1949, in Piedras Verdes, Chihuahua, Mexico. Arturo was the oldest of twelve siblings, serving as the family leader for both his immediate family and for all his brothers and sisters. Arturo came to the United States at a very young age, searching for the American dream for himself and his family. Arturo ventured to and worked in many states including Wyoming, Colorado, Ohio, Montana, Pennsylvania and many more. Arturo had known his wife, Cristina Hernández Chavira, his whole life, but they began to get to know each other better and started dating in 1970. They were married on February 10, 1973. In 1975, their first and only child, Arturo Pérez Hernández, was born. The three spent a lot of time living part time in Wyoming during warm months working for Joe Johnson Company/Scissors Ranch in Wheatland, Wyoming tending to cattle and fields. They would return home in cold months to Santa Isabel, Chihuahua, Mexico to enjoy their home and to work their own cattle and tend their own fields. Arturo worked for Joe Johnson Company/Scissors Ranch for well over thirty years. Arturo was a devoted and hard worker, who took pride in his work ethic and ensured that his son became a strong and hardworking man. Arturo was a loyal, honest and just man. He ensured all things were done "the right way" and never accepted a deal that wasn't just or truthful. Arturo will be remembered as a loving and fun man. Arturo enjoyed sharing a cup of coffee with a good conversation. He enjoyed spending time with his three grandchildren and was very proud to see them become accomplished and successful adults. Arturo was a family man and did everything with the best interests of his family always in mind. Those who knew Arturo will remember his stories, his wisdom, his kindness, his favorite way to make coffee, his love for agriculture and most of all will remember the great man he was. The world lost an amazing man, and he will be greatly missed, but his legacy and impact will live on forever. Arturo was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gilberto Perez. He is survived by his wife, Cristina Hernandez Chavira, his son Arturo Perez Hernandez (Alicia), grandchildren Jesus Arturo Perez (Jenna), Yesenia Perez Ruwart (Patrick), Lupita Perez, and his siblings, Bernardo Perez Peña, Jaime Perez Peña, Olivia Perez Peña, Rosa Perez Peña, Elida Perez Hernandez, Socorro Perez Peña, Guadalupe Salcido, Abel Perez Peña, Lourdes Perez Peña, and Matilde Perez Peña. A celebration of Arturo's life will be held at a later date in Wheatland, Wyoming, as Arturo dreamed of going back to Wyoming to spend time with his son and grandchildren. Arturos final resting place will be in Santa Isabel, Chihuahua thereafter as per his wishes.
