Betsy Burba Obituary

Betsy Sue (Sue as we all knew her because she hated being called Betsy) was born on May 27, 1959, in Denver, Colorado, to Eugene and Georgia Burba. Sue lived a life full of color, spirit, and generosity. She was a true original-a gypsy at heart, a pirate in spirit, and a presence impossible to forget. Sue spoke her mind, had an unforgettable laugh, and welcomed everyone into her home with warmth, whether friends, family, or strangers.

Sue had many passions, but baking was her favorite. Sue loved coloring, collecting treasures, scratching lottery tickets, listening to music, painting her nails, doing her hair, watching movies, and above all, spending time with her friends, who she loved so very much. The freedom of riding on the back of a bike brought her joy, and the lingering scent of her patchouli left a trace of her wherever she went.

Sue is survived by her sons, Damian Daniel (Ginny) and Pythus Paul; her grandchildren, Jonah Mitchell, Coral Elizabeth, Octavia Jane, and Damian Logan; Her brother, Earl Burba (Brooke); and her bonus-daughter Natasha as well as many bonus-grandchildren, all of which she loved as her own.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Georgia Burba, and her bonus children Felecia and Ronnie.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 20, at 2 p.m. at Kibbley-Fishburn Funeral Home in Loveland, CO., with a celebration to follow at 4 p.m. at The Cove Bar in Loveland.
