Bob Babcock Obituary

Leslie Robert Babcock passed away on June 19, 2025, at his home in Castle Pines Village, Colorado at the age of 83 years of age, where he was surrounded by his family. Bob was born on March 8, 1942, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He was the oldest child of Leslie Norman Babcock and Lena May Curran. Bob has a sister, Sandra Lee Peery (Babcock). In 1952, when Bob was 10yrs old, he and his family moved to the U.S. to seek a better living environment (drier air) for Bob's health as per doctor's recommendations. They moved to Los Angeles, California for the warmer climate and the beautiful orange groves. They purchased a home in North Hollywood. In October 1959, Bob and his family became US Citizens. Les worked as a machinist; Lena was an accountant at a company called Colton Metalex Company. Bob graduated from Polytechnical High School in 1960, North Hollywood. While in junior high school he met his lifelong friend Bill Bauer, whom Bob always referred to as "his brother." Once they met, they were inseparable and remained friends throughout their lives. Once graduated from high school, Bob was hired at Paramount Studios to be a Gaffer. A brief time after that he had the opportunity to work for NCR (National Cash Register Company). There he made service calls to retail stores and many restaurants to fix their registers. While working at NCR he also had a couple of side jobs. Mowing lawns for some restaurants and fixing cars with his best friend Bill; they resold them to make extra money for their young families. In June 1960, Bob met Janice E. McGovern and married on June 23, 1963. They enjoyed three children Kimberlee, Scot, and Justin. As a family they enjoyed camping, fishing, skiing, and travelling. Bob enjoyed his hunting trips with his good friend Smitty. Bob was always fixing or building something. In 1973 they all moved from California to Parker, Colorado. There, he built their home on 2.5 acres of land where they enjoyed the 42 pine trees on their property and their large garden. They also had a horse named Pepper. Bob and Jan divorced 1976. Bob met and married Becky and they married in 1979. They shared a business together, CRI Financial Systems, where they built a successful company. Bob and Becky started their company in the garage of their home and eventually built the business into a multi-state company and employed team members that all shared in the same entrepreneur spirit that was the foundation of the company. Bob and Becky enjoyed their worldly travels together, traveling to such places as Paris, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Caribbean, Bird City (look it up), Panama Canal, Hawaii, and Mexico. Bob was an adventurer as he became a pilot, was a photographer, fished, navigated a 45' yacht around the San Juan islands near Seattle, and is especially known for his "rock star" (a Prevost) motor coach which he shared with his family on so many trips. Bob and Becky's family was often referred to as "the Brady Bunch" as they helped positively impact children from their previous marriages. Bob's greatest love, simply put: HIS FAMILY. He was preceded in death by his father Leslie Norman Babcock and mother Lena May 'Curran' Babcock. His grandparents Robert Grieve Money and Mable Alma 'Pritchard' Money and George Preston Babcock and Lottie May Babcock. Bob is survived by his wife Becky and sister Sandra Peery. As well, his children Kimberlee (Dan), Scot (Julie), Justin (Jennifer), Shari, Dana (Brad). Grandchildren, Stephanie (Corey), James (Jessica), Joshua, Jeremy (Kenzie), Emilee (Diego), Riley (Hannah), Chase (Miranda), Reed, Cameron, Lexi, Dillion, Nicholas, Brittani, Brandon, and Tyler. Great-grandchildren, Morgan, Kara, Jace, Jensen, Jayden, Opal, Valerie, Clarence. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Bob Babcock, please visit our floral store.
