Brian Michael Darling, known affectionately as Bri to family members and even more affectionately as "Sweet Cheeks" to many of his friends, was, as his mom phrased it - "a ray of sunshine" - in the lives of all who knew him. Born on January 8, 1977, in
Denver, Colorado, Brian's journey of life came to a gentle close on February 9, 2026. He was a beloved son to Jan and Ron "RD" Darling, and a cherished brother to Christina Dawn Darling.
Raised in Silverthorne, Colorado, Brian graduated from Summit High School in 1994. From there, he delved into the world of Agricultural Science, where his educational journey saw him earn an Associate's Degree from Northeastern Jr. College, before furthering his studies at Colorado State University. This foundation paved the way for a career as an outside sales representative, where he brought warmth to homes through his work with insulation companies, most recently with Beaver Insulation.
Brian's interests were diverse, with each hobby reflecting a facet of his vibrant spirit. He was an avid snowboarder, mastering the art of gracefully sliding down snowy slopes. Camping was another of his joys, embracing the serene beauty of nature. Hunting with Dad and his best friend, Brad, was met with an equal enthusiasm, as he ventured into the wilderness with the same gusto that he approached all aspects of his life.
Brian treasured his Sundays as a fervent football fan. He embraced the triumphs and trials of his favorite teams - the Broncos and the Patriots - from the comfort of his living room.
Brian's collection of Transformers was a testament to his childlike wonder that he never let go of. His pride, however, truly shone when it came to his home and yard, which he tended to with the dedication of a true craftsman. He also had a knack for finding the divine comedy in life's everyday moments.
In memory of Brian's playful spirit, let us recall the words of the beloved comedian and actor, the late Robin Williams, who once said, "You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it." Brian indeed embraced his spark of madness, illuminating the world with laughter and love.
Brian's departure from this world leaves behind a legacy of joy, a garden of cherished memories, and an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were blessed to know him. He navigated life's journey with a vibrant soul, a hearty laugh, and an unwavering faith.
Besides his parents and sister, Brian is also survived by uncle, Keith Wachter, cousins Brandon Wachter and Derek Wachter (wife Stephanie); cousins Jason Sneden (wife Jennifer), Corey Sneden, David Sneden (wife Andrea), and Jacob Sneden (wife Samantha); step uncle, Michael Walsh; uncles Kenneth Darling (wife Kathy), Harold Darling, and Melvin Darling; aunt, Ruth Seyfer and cousins Daisha Finke (husband Matt Finke) and Tracy Vogel (Nate Vogel); and many second and third cousins.
While he may have left the physical world, his spirit continues to warm the hearts of his family, friends, and all who were touched by his light. Brian Michael Darling, you will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
