Was watching the Olympics and your family came to mind and I put Brian and Ann Heckman in my phone and up came the obituary for Brian.
I am sorry for your loss of one of the most wonderful man that I have met in my many
years. He was so supportive of his boys and supportive of Middle Park Schools. He always had a smile for everyone and loved his family. He, Ann and their three boys were a great addition to the Fraser Valley.
I will never forget Brian, Ann and their three boys. My best to them.

Brian volunteered for us at the Grand County Water Information Network (GCWIN) for several years, helping briefly with river monitoring before helping with the atmospheric deposits monitoring. Never saw him without a smile, and always so very helpful. Annie was the love of his life! I remember training him one morning on water monitoring procedure in a parking area in Granby in front of the coffee shop - we were standing at the back of my vehicle with everything spread out on the tailgate. Annie - who I had not met - drove by, and I think neither realized the other would be there! Brian turned around, big happy smile, and bottles went flying. “Oh”, he said, “it’s Annie! I need to show her what we are doing!”. You were both so cute and lovely, and all the bottles were just fine. What a wonderful person and human being he was, and I am so glad I worked with him if even for a short while. May the many I am sure happy memories help you through this hard time.

Brian and Ann and the boys were my wonderful neighbors in Homestead Hills in Grand County for many years. Brian would come to my second grade class at Fraser Valley Elementary for our unit on weather and teach the kids about clouds, tornados, hurricanes, and always have games to play with the boys vs. the girls to find out what they had learned. It was great fun and the teacher learned right along with the children.

Our memories of the Heckmans - Brian, Ann and the kids - go back almost 4 decades, too many stories to recount. The last, most significant for us was the support from them over the 12 days following the East Troublesome fire 5 years ago, when we didn't know if we had a home to return to. That was and is an unrepayable debt, a time filled with a fear of what might have been lost but happy conversations of past times with friends. We'll miss you Brian.

Dear Ann, so good to hear your sweet voice yesterday. We dearly loved Tinker and you and the boys. We know that this creates a hole in your heart dear friend. We send our dearest sympathies to you and your dear family as we remember all of the wonderful, precious times our two families spent together in Kansas City and Colorado. One of the fun memories we have of Tinker is when we first moved to Kansas City, next door to you in Prairie Village, he came over to introduce himself to us and seeing our U-Haul trailer in the driveway, asked if there was anything he could help us with, not realizing we had a piano inside! But this didn't stop he and David from somehow getting it into our house, and he invited us over to your house for coffee and donuts, where we met you for the first time. Doug was a dear little young man and Ryan was a precious little guy in his highchair. This was the beginning of a treasured friendship that continues to this day! Our love & prayers, David & Cheri (aka "yoowhoo")

Brian , or Tinker as the family called him, was my wonderful husband for 57 years. Through thick and thin in sickness and health . He was and remains the center of my life. His curiosity about all of life led us on many life’s journeys . His energy , and love of our 3 sons gave me great joy . I will miss you Honey for the rest of my life.
