Carla Harty Obituary

Carla Joy Harty, of Littleton, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2026. She was 87 years old. Carla was born October 30, 1938 in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Carl and Elizabeth (Weibel) Dardinger.

Carla grew up and attended schools in Columbus. She graduated from Holy Family High School in 1956. After graduation, Carla attended Ohio State University in Cincinnati for her degree in Nursing. She then enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1961 and was honorably discharged in 1963. In 1964, she married Gerald Henry Harty in Denver, Colorado. They were blessed with two sons, David and Craig. She cherished her career as a Nurse but after getting married and starting a family, she became a full time time mother. She devoted everything to raising her children and giving them a great life.

In addition to her family, Carla loved traveling with her family or her friends from Nursing School. She was especially fond of Europe. Carla also loved golf and getting together with friends and playing Bunco or Mahjong.

Carla is survived by her son, David Harty. In addition to her parents, Carla was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald; son, Craig and her brother, Sam.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11am, Monday, January 26, 2026 at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home Chapel 7577 W. 80th Avenue in Arvada.
