Chris Glenn Hammon, 28, left the world behind on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. What he will never leave behind is the love his family andfriends have for him.

Chris was born Oct. 4, 1997, at Longmont United Hospital. While he was the youngest of three siblings, he was like a big brother to his sisters in so many ways. He was always there for them, whether it involved helping them move, getting projects done in the yard, or just being the kind and comforting person he always was. Loving, and with a true heart of gold, Chris's empathy and care for others was unmatched by any person on the planet. It showed in the way he shared his friendship with all people. Additionally, his sense of humor, taste in music, and rock star long hair were truly legendary. Chris graduated from Silver Creek High School in only three years. Feeling called to serve his country, he began training for the Army immediately after graduation. Chris had amazing artistic talent, and not just for drawing. When he returned to Longmont, he applied this skill to his work on motorcycles, wood craftsmanship, and excavating for construction. There are many developments along the I-25 corridor - schools, apartments, and businesses that came to be because of his work. When it came to employment, he most loved snow plowing for Denver International Airport. He even recently got to be part of a team that was sent to the east coast to help clear unprecedented amounts of snow. Chris was a force in that role. He never stood idle, and no matter how hard the work, he always had a good attitude and sense of humor.

At only 24, he was a homeowner. When he bought his Greeley home, he inherited from the prior owner a flock of chickens. Chris upgradedtheir coop, built them a miniature picnic table for their meals, and all around gave them a great life, which would be also be true of his beloved dog, Tiger and cat, Mike.

Those who were lucky enough to know him treasured every minute of his 28 years on earth. While he was here a short time, the way he loved and cared for his family and encouraged them to love and care for one another, will continue to inspire them a lifetime.Chris leaves behind his mom, Cassie Hammon; dad, Glenn Hammon; his sisters, Kelsey and Janae; and his beloved dog and cat, Tiger and Mike(which have been claimed in new loving homes). His life will be celebrated on Sunday, April 12. His family andfriends will gather to share their best Chris stories, and dad jokes, in his honor.
