David G. Barsotti, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died on Thursday March 9, 2023 at the age of 94, following a short illness.
He was born and raised in Colorado Springs, CO and graduated from Cheyenne Mountain High School. He received his B.A. in Political Science from Colorado College, where he was a member of Sigma Chi.
He served in the Navy during the Korean War on the Oriskany aircraft carrier and was honorably discharged as Lieutenant. He then earned his J.D. from the University of Denver Law School, after which he practiced law in Denver for 50 years. He and his family were members of the Arapahoe Tennis Club for 40 years, and he was a 64-year member of the University Club of Denver. For many years he served on the board of the Marlar Foundation, where he oversaw philanthropic funding of scholarships in the Space Sciences. As a member of Mensa, he had a thirst for knowledge that extended throughout his life.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Charles Barsotti, and his sister, Margherita Sharkey. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Mona Barsotti; daughters Melanie Barsotti and Janene McCann (Mike); and grandchildren Haley Leyendecker (Chris) and Marshall McCann (Alex).
