Dennis Peppard Obituary

Dennis Lee Peppard passed away peacefully at home in Loveland, Colorado, on March 2, 2026, after a lengthy illness. He was born June 29, 1945, in Aurora, Colorado, and remained proud throughout his life to be a Colorado native.

Dennis graduated from Natrona County High School in Casper, Wyoming, in 1964. Shortly after graduating, on June 5, 1964, he married Angela Ilona Nield in Casper. Together they built a life centered on family, loyalty, and hard work.

From 1966 to 1972, Dennis proudly served in the United States Air Force, including five years stationed in Wiesbaden, West Germany. As a Vietnam-era veteran, he carried a deep pride in his military service throughout his life.

Following his military service, Dennis worked for many years in the oil and gas industry as an oilfield equipment mechanic. Known for his skill, reliability, and strong work ethic, he worked for companies including J.B. Roden Drilling, Coleman & Son, and Schlumberger, contributing to drilling and production operations throughout his career. Dennis retired in 2000, and once again returned to his home state of Colorado.

While he worked hard throughout his life, Dennis made sure his family always came first. He rarely missed an opportunity to support his children in their many activities - from sports (especially tennis) to dance and cheerleading - and he took great pride in cheering them on.

He also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. Dennis loved boating and was a devoted NHRA fan, especially enjoying following legendary driver John Force.

Dennis is survived by his wife of 61 years, Angela, and their children:

Christa (Chris) Sutton,

Darrin (Jess) Peppard, and

Tami (Sonny) Knotts, eight granddaughters, one grandson, an honorary granddaughter, and ten great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his younger brothers, Richard and Robert Peppard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, and younger brother, Lester.

A celebration of Dennis's life will be held this summer in Afton (Star Valley), Wyoming.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Dennis's memory to the American Lung Association or Wounded Warrior Project.

Dennis will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love for his family, and his pride in the life he built through hard work and service.

His steady presence, devotion to family, and pride in his country will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
