It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Dorothy Elaine Johnson, who entered into rest on September 14, 2025, at the age of 92. She was surrounded by her loving family as she peacefully took her last breath in the early morning hours. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Dorothy was proud to be alumni of St. Mary’s Academy, where she served as Senior Class President of her graduating class of 1951. Soon after, she met the love of her life, Marcus (“Mark”) Johnson, and the two were married on October 16, 1951. Together they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and adventure.
Dorothy and Mark enjoyed golfing, bowling in local leagues, and traveling. Their favorite trips took them to Hawaii and the Caribbean, where they made treasured memories together.
A remarkable testament to her independence, Dorothy lived in her cherished home on Chase Street for nearly her entire life — 70 years — moving only one month before her passing.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Linda Brienza (Bob) and Loretta (Lorie) Schink (Mike); grandchildren Richard Hoover (Jenna), Mary Hoover, and Kate Dixon (John); and great-grandchildren Malia, Monroe, Olivia, Camden, and Blake.
A private interment will be held at Fort Logan National Cemetery, where Dorothy will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Mark.
Her legacy of love, resilience, and devotion to family will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
