I just learned of Doug's Passing today as my good friend Larry Grigsby and I were talking about getting in touch with Doug. Both Larry and were saddened to hear as we were such good friends. I played Little League Baseball, street ball, and celebrated Our Birthdays together swimming at my house and we lived 2 houses away. He moved away but we touched base with him when he was playing with Cleaveland. So proud to have known Doug since we were 10yrs old. My Thoughts and prayers are with you, my Friend and your Family.

Doug was an amazing person and Teammate! One of the best competitors I’ve ever had the pleasure to play catch with everyday when we played together. I loved to pick his brain on the daily and absorb any of the knowledge he was always willing to share. He had the nastiest change up I’ve ever seen! He will be forever missed. I still wear my watch that he gave to me in 1997 it was a memorable occasion to receive and to be part of that unbelievable year he had!!! Your on the best Team in baseball!! God’s Team! So sorry to hear of Doug's passing. Doug's family were neighbors of ours in the late 60's. He was also a good friend of my younger brother Kenny and his mom & mine were good friends and stayed in communication for years even after they moved to Indiana. When the Indians came to Kansas City to play I took my son's to watch and was able to contact him and he came out of the dug out before the game and visited with us. He was a super nice guy. Sending Prayers out to his family.

Such a wonderful thing when you are able to live your life doing what you are good at... May his talent and love for the game continue to live on as his legacy. May you all be comforted by this and the eternal love of your heavenly Father.

I remember the first time we met Doug, my husband was a great baseball fan and was so excited. Doug was so kind and humble. Prayers to Deb and family for peace and much needed rest. Lord, be with this family and help them cope with their loved one not being there.

We are sorry to hear of Doug Jones passing. My son Eddie had the privilege of repairing his television while he was in Tucson. He took Doug's baseball card to the service call and Doug autographed the card. I went to a silent auction event and won the bid for Doug's autographed baseball hat. Rest In Peace Doug Jones.
