Elizabeth “Liz” Hill (née Brown) passed away peacefully the morning of Tuesday, October 14, 2025 with the love of her family surrounding her.
Liz was born in Endicott, NY in 1965 to William Joseph and Mildred Reid Brown. She was raised in Athens, GA by her parents, and after their passing by Joyce Looney, her cousin, and her husband Bill, guardians.
While pursuing her education degree, she met the love of her life and best friend, Rev. Dean Hill. They would marry in 1989, and remained so for 36 years.
Liz worked as a teacher and as a flight attendant, but she saw her highest calling in life as that of wife to Dean, mother to Jake since 1993 and Isaac since 1999, and homemaker for them all. She was a devout follower of Christ and a dynamic pastor’s wife with gifts of teaching and leadership. Her defining characteristic, though, was a gift of mercy and unconditional love that beckoned her to empathize with, encourage, and serve as many people as possible, whether through one-time encounters or in ongoing relationships. In fact, she saw every interaction with others as an opportunity to spread light, joy, and healing to whomever was in her path.
She will be missed by her husband of 36 years, Dean; son, Isaac; brothers, Bill Hurley, David Looney, Paul Looney, and Dean Looney; guardian, Joyce Looney; as well as numerous extended family members and friends.
Liz was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mildred Brown; guardian, Bill Looney, and brother, Patrick Looney.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 11am., at Living Hope Bible Church, 105 S Moline St., Aurora, CO 80012. A funeral service will be held in GA at a date and time to be announced later.
