It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Evelyn L. DeAngelis, a beloved wife, mother, proud grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and a loyal friend to many. She passed away peacefully at home on July 5, 2025, at the age of 91, surrounded by loved ones.
Born on May 17, 1934, in Denver CO, Evelyn lived a life marked by love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those around her. A loving spouse to Louis (Sonny) of 71 years, they built a life full of laughter, strength, and partnership. As a mother and grandmother and great grandmother, Evelyn was a steady source of wisdom, warmth, and guidance.
Evelyn was known not only for her deep devotion to her husband, but also for her strong work ethic and camaraderie in the workplace during her working career. Colleagues became close friends, drawn to her generous spirit, sense of humor, and sincere care for others. She had a unique gift for making everyone feel seen and valued and had a wonderful sense of humor.
Outside of work and family, Evelyn enjoyed attending mass on a regular basis, cooking, baking, hosting family gatherings, especially the holidays, shopping for gifts for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved going to Las Vegas, Black Hawk, crocheting, working in her yard, cleaning house and always found time to help a friend or family in need or share a story that brought a smile.
She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her, but her legacy of love, strength, hard work and kindness will live on in the hearts of family and friends. She was a great model who impacted many lives during her lifetime.
Evelyn is survived by her husband Louis; children Frank DeAngelis (Diane), Tony DeAngelis (Shanda), LuAnn DeAngelis Dwyer (Ted). Several grandchildren Nicole Hall (Eric Clancy), Matt Meyer, Michael Askins (Laura), Teddy Dwyer (Shannon) and Sabrina Dwyer. In addition, she was blessed to have four great grandchildren, Zach and Alina Askins, Mia Hall, and Dominic Dwyer. She was a wonderful aunt and great aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, and cousins and many friends
The viewing and the Rosary will take place on Wednesday, July 16th; the viewing will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. followed by the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Horan & McConaty at 7577 West 80th Avenue. The Funeral Mass is on Thursday, July 17th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church at 12735 W 58th Ave, Arvada, CO 80002. Reception to follow. All who knew and loved Evelyn are welcome to attend and share memories. The Burial Service will be held on Thursday, July 17th, at Mt. Olivet at 3:00 p.m. 12801 W. 44th Avenue.
