Gabriel (Gabe) Martinez, a beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of family. Born in
Denver, Colorado, to Maria Theresa (Isaguirre) Chatman, Gabe was the oldest of three siblings and shared a close bond with his brother Isaiah Chatman and sister Tiaandra Chatman, stepfather James Chatman, and two stepbrothers, Anthony Perkins and Gerard Perkins.
Gabe spent most of his life in the Brighton and Denver area, a community he deeply loved and proudly called home. He was raised in Fort Lupton and
Brighton, Colorado, where he built lifelong friendships and developed the warm, outgoing personality that would define him. Gabe graduated from Brighton High School and continued his education at Colorado State University in Fort Collins.
Known for his infectious smile and quick sense of humor, Gabe had a special gift for making everyone around him feel welcome and valued. His corny jokes were legendary among friends and family, often bringing laughter exactly when it was needed most. Gabe believed that laughter was one of life's greatest gifts, and he shared it freely with everyone he met.
A passionate sports fan, Gabe especially loved the San Diego Chargers and the Denver Nuggets, often wearing his team gear proudly.
Gabe had an extraordinarily generous heart. In an act that reflects the very essence of who he was, Gabe chose to be an organ donor, giving others the chance to live fuller and healthier lives. His kindness, compassion, and selflessness made him a hero to those who knew and loved him, and through his gift of life, he continues to be a hero to many more.
Above all, Gabe's faith in God remained strong until his last moments on earth, which he spent surrounded by his loving family. His faith brought him comfort, strength, and peace, and continues to be a source of hope for those who mourn his passing.
Gabe was deeply loved by his brother, sister, cousins, extended family members, and many friends whose lives were brighter because of his presence. He will be remembered for his laughter, his loyalty, and the love he shared so freely. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and in the lives forever changed by his final act of generosity. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
He is survived by his mother, Maria Theresa (Isaguirre) Chatman; his stepfather, James Chatman; his brother, Isaiah Chatman, and sister, Tiaandra Chatman; his two stepbrothers, Anthony Perkins and Gerard Perkins; and a large circle of cousins, family members, and friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
