James Duane Koehn, age 80, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, at Covenant Village of Colorado.
James was born on October 13, 1945, in Goessel, Kansas. He graduated from Newton High School in 1963 and soon after, enlisted in the United States Navy. James proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal before receiving an honorable discharge in 1966.
In 1974, James moved to Colorado, where he built a long and dedicated career in manufacturing. He worked for Sundstrand for 28 years as an EDM machine specialist and later, spent 5 years with Gambro Medical Manufacturing. James retired in 2010 after more than three decades of skilled and committed service.
James was a devoted family man who deeply loved his wife, children, and extended family. In his later years, he found great joy in fishing and rarely missed watching football games on Sundays. He was known for his steady work ethic, quiet strength, and loyalty to those he loved.
James is survived by his wife, Alice Allendorf-Koehn; his sons, Randy, Edward, and Robert; his stepson, Trent Cox, and his stepdaughter, Tasha Cox; his sister, Virginia, and his brother, Brad, both of Kansas. He was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him immense pride and happiness.
James Duane Koehn will be remembered for his service, dedication, and the love he shared with his family. His legacy lives on through those who knew and loved him.
