James c Meehan was born in Alamosa, Colorado on August 18, 1933, the youngest of 4 children to John and Irene Meehan. Jim attended The Abbey in Canon City, Colorado, graduating in 1951 and attended Adams State College until 1954, when he enlisted in the Navy. Eager to finish his degree, Jim returned to school and graduated from Adams State College with a Bachelor's Degree in Education in 1957. He moved to Denver where he met Sally Maloley. They got married in August of 1961.

Jim worked in the real estate field for over 36 years. He went to work for Johnson Anderson Mortgage Company as a licensed real estate broker and eventually moved on to the City of Denver as a real estate appraiser for 27 years. He made good friends there that he still kept in touch with and enjoyed seeing as often as possible.

In 1966, their daughter Sally was born and a few years later, in 1969, they moved into their home. Jim was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parrish for 50 years, a member of the American Legion – Denver Post 211, and a lifetime member of the Alamosa Elks Club for 39 years, where his father, John had also been a member.

He had many interests including going to the Colorado Rockies games or to Colorado Avalanche games with Sally after work, the occasional trip to Central City, and driving to the mountains to enjoy the cool weather and beautiful scenery. Jim also had a love of trains, as many members of his family had been conductors or engineers on trains in Durango, Alamosa, and Chama, New Mexico. He loved taking his family to ride trains in Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming, and Minnesota when the opportunity arose.

Jim made friends everywhere he went. Everybody liked him, with his classic Meehan sense of humor. If you knew him, you experienced it. He had a heart of gold, and we miss him dearly.

Jim was greeted, in passing, by his parents, John and Irene and his siblings, Elizabeth (Bea) Steffens, Charles (Chuck), and Terrence (Terry).

He is survived by his wife, Sally, daughter Sally Ann, son-in-law Scott Bradley and his grandchildren, Jameson and Julia Irene Bradley of whom he was very proud.
