Yesterday

Had the pleasure of being at one of his presentations nearly 20 years back. What a guy! Inspired me and so many others to continue the journey to help others be the best they can be. Well done, sir!

Sarah and Nico, I am so sorry that you lost Jamie at such an early age! His obituary has brought me many things I would have liked to discuss with him. I shared his interest in higher education. Most of all I wish that I had thanked him for his support of your art, Sarah! What a fine person he was. Sometimes it takes something like an obituary to fully appreciate a person´s life! Wish we´d been able to connect more meaningfully, Jamie!

This is Mike Eisenberg again. I donated to Everylibrary in Jamie's honor. Everylibrary - https://www.everylibrary.org/ - is a tireless advocate for libraries and I know that Jamie would strongly support their efforts.

To your memory, Jamie.

I am so sorry for your loss. Jamie hired me in his first year at T/E school district. I rate his interview at the top of those I have had. He asked thought provoking questions, challenging me to think way outside of even my artistic box. I remember thinking if I would be so lucky to work at this district, I would be happy to drive the added distance. I wanted to work for administrators who would be supportive and show respect for instilling not only a joy and passion for the arts but to inspire integrity in the work ethic of each of my students. That one interview with Jamie displayed all i needed to know. He was an intelligent man with a passion for leadership in quality education. I wanted to prove I could be the absolutely best I could be! He will be greatly missed.

When Jamie came to Tredyffrin - Easttown School District as Superintendent, it was as though a Breath of fresh air had swept into town! He was a very bright, hard driving visionary, who challenged the entire district to think in ways we never thought possible. In many respects, it was exactly what we needed, though a bit daunting for those of us tasked with implementing his vision. I always felt privileged to have worked for him. May he rest in peace, knowing others continue to run the race and follow in his footsteps.

This is Mike Eisenberg. I was a good friend of Jamie's. We talked briefly on Sunday, and he explained that he was doing this on his own terms. That's Jamie - in control until the end.

Jamie and I met through work as educators, writers, and presenters regarding improving learning through effective use of technology and critical thinking/problem-solving. He was a brilliant thinker who affected thousands of children through his work with teachers and administrators.

We became friends - meeting in Seattle mostly. Sometimes, we'd share a meal in a city where we were both presenting. We were ALWAYS in synch on ideas and approaches. But Jamie challenged me - to push my thoughts into actions whether it be writing, multi-media, or even music.

Although we only talked occasionally in the past couple of years, I always felt close to Jamie. I will miss him deeply.
