Jeanette Tostenson Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeanette Tostenson on

February 27, 2026, at the age of 85. Jeanette was born on February 29, 1940 in

Dickinson, ND to Joseph and Katherine (Wock) Kary.

Jeanette met the love of her life and beloved husband, Larry Tostenson in Dickinson,

ND.

Jeanette was an avid golfer, an accomplished baker & cook, and loved to gamble at

the casinos.

There was nothing Jeanette loved more than time spent with her grandchildren. Or

as simple as a phone call with them to catch up on their lives, have some laughs,

making their wife's blush with complements, and tell stories of the past. Her

personality was addictive, and brought comfort and joy to any conversation. While

she will be deeply missed, the memories and how fortunate we were to have her in

our lives outweigh any anguish.

Jeanette truly embodied what it meant to be her authentic self. Her presence was

magnetic, and her unique mannerisms will forever be remembered. Whether it was

an "oh geese," a drawn-out "welllll," a playful "don't ya know," or a simple,

expressive "ohhhhh," you could always feel her words as much as you heard them.

Jeanette was firecracker! She was fun, honest, freespirited, and confident. She knew

what she liked and embraced it wholeheartedly.

She had a genuine appreciation of Southwestern culture, paired with an impeccable

eye for fashion and art. That passion shone through in her beautifully designed

homes and her vibrant daily attire, often inspiring others to admire, and even adopt

her distinctive style.

Jeanette made it a point to truly know her loved ones. She asked questions, listened

intently, and cherished learning about the lives of her greatgrandchildren,

grandchildren, and their spouses. The stories of others always mattered more to her

than her own. Her spirit, warmth, and personality will live on through her family for

generations to come.

Preceded in joining the Lord by: Mother & Father, Joseph & Katherine Kary, her

husband, Larry Tostenson, and her brother, Donald Kary.

Survived by: two sons, Kim Tostenson and Kelly Tostenson; sister, Sylvia Medley;

brother, Dennis Kary; three grandchildren, Christopher (Emily), Ryan (Jadie), Kyle,

and she is survived by three great grandchildren, Autumn, Olivia and Anabel.

In lieu of flowers family requests that a tree be planted in Jeanette's memory.
