Obituary for John Thomas Mondragon AKA Tom
In Loving Memory of John Thomas Mondragon July 12, 1948 - June 16, 2025
John Mondragon went home to the Lord on June 16, 2025. He was born on July 12, 1948 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Louis Mondragon and Nora Mondragon. John grew up in a Military family living in New Mexico, California, Utah and Colorado where he called his home. He graduated at West High School and soon after enlisted in the Air Force and served 3 years in England and 1 year in Greece during the Vietnam War. When he returned home he met and fell in love with his best friend and the love of his life, Geneva Mondragon. They were married February 22,1974 where they continued to spend the next 47 years making one another laugh, smile and expand their family. He shared this love with their two beautiful children Jessica and Lisa.
John spent the next 35 years working for Mountain Bell, Quest and Dex. Upon retirement John needed to keep himself busy and worked at the Census Bureau. Being the devoted husband and Father he was, he helped with his wifes daycare. Also, he loved his children with all his heart and in spite of his busy schedule he always made sure that his family came first. Anybody who knew John (Tom) expected to have a good laugh, he was the life of the party! He knew how to bring a smile to anybody's face. John loved his Tennis matches even setting his alarm to watch a 3am match. John and Geneva hosted bible studies in their home for over 15 years leading many people to love God the way they did. John was a dedicated Christian and he will be greatly missed by so many people. We take comfort in knowing we will see him again in Heaven.
John is survived by his Daughters Jessica Bible (Spouse Rick Bible) and Lisa Mondragon. Brothers, David Mondragon, Mandell Mondragon, Henry Mondragon (Spouse Sheryl Mondragon) and Leroy Herrera. Sister, Doris Campos(Spouse Rudy Campos). Stepmother, Theresa Mondragon. Many Cousins, Nieces, and Nephews and his Dog "Boomer"
