It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Joyce. She lived a full and wonderful life spending her early years overseas in various Middle Eastern countries as her father was a Foreign Service Officer with the Agency for International Development. She returned to the U.S. to finish High School where she met her future husband Jack, they fell in love, and married. Shortly thereafter moved to Maryland where they welcomed their first child Sheri, three years later their second child Elizabeth was born. The Merkle family then moved to Colorado where their third daughter Stacy was born. Four years later Jack, Joyce and family were off to England for a two year adventure working for Lockheed. Upon their return they settled in Pflugerville, TX which they thought would be their final home. Five years later they returned to Colorado where eventually their daughters married and began raising their families. Joyce and Jack enjoyed these past years watching their daughters families grow and prosper. Joyce and Jack were blessed with watching eight wonderful grandchildren grow up.

Joyce was an avid reader and enjoyed playing Mah Jongg and Bridge.

Survived by her loving spouse of 56 years, Jack.

Education: Sinclair Community College, Associates Degree

Joyce was a stay at home mother dedicated to raising her wonderful and loving daughters.

Joyce was raised Protestant and later converted to Catholicism.

Children: Sheri Merkle of Lonetree CO, Elizabeth Harpole (Josh Harpole) of Louisville KY, Stacy Tebben (Mike Tebben) of Aurora CO.

Grandchildren: Mitchell Atencio (Kristen), Megan Atencio, Sarah Harpole, Emma Tebben, Noah Tebben, Grace Barons, Elise Barons, Brook Goodman(Aric).

Great-grandchild Eloise Goodman.
