Karl Wesselhoeft Obituary

Karl, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, met Jesus on November 16, 2025, surrounded by the same deep love he so freely poured into others. Raised in New England with his two older brothers, he grew up on a small family farm where simple joys—skating on frozen ponds, long walks by the water, cheering at ballgames, and his mother’s famous baked treats—formed the foundation of his lifelong love for family, community, and the beauty found in everyday moments.

A proud U.S. Air Force Air National Guard Sergeant and a graduate of Arizona State University, Karl built a respected career in marketing, sales, and leadership. Yet no title ever meant more to him than husband, Dad, and Grampy.

Karl was joyfully married to the love of his life, Ursula, for 52 years. Together they raised two children and later delighted in six grandsons who adored him just as deeply as he adored them. He poured his whole heart into their lives—cheering from sidelines, hiking trails, fishing quiet waters, boating, reading stacks of storybooks, braving freezing-cold zoo trips, and playing endless, laughter-filled rounds of pool.

Karl’s faith guided his every step. He served faithfully through Community Bible Study, mission work, men’s ministries, local outreach, and countless quiet acts of generosity and kindness—always showing up where help was needed, always leading with a servant’s heart. He often asked, with genuine love, “How’s your walk with God?” because your relationship with Jesus mattered more to him than anything else.

He was also deeply committed to serving his broader community. Over the years, he held leadership roles in several service organizations and helped spearhead numerous community projects and fundraising efforts. One of his proudest accomplishments was supporting a million-dollar initiative benefiting children in need—spreading hope where it mattered most. Of all his service, however, his most cherished role was mentoring young men, a calling he embraced wholeheartedly and one that left a lasting imprint on many lives.

To his grandsons, Karl was the loudest cheer in the stands, the sharpest dresser in any room, and the warm, curious, joy-filled presence who always made them feel seen, valued, and deeply loved.

Karl was preceded in death by his beloved wife, his parents, and his two older brothers. He is survived by his children, grandchildren, extended family, and the many friends who were blessed by his life.

A celebration of Karl’s life will be held on December 18, 2025, at 2 p.m., Christ Episcopal Church, Denver, where his legacy of faith, kindness, and service will be honored with joy—just as he would have wanted.

We remember and celebrate a man who loved deeply, served joyfully, and taught us all to look a little more like Jesus. “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
