Surrounded by his loving family, Kenneth Gregory Bueche, 87, of Arvada, Colorado passed away peacefully at home on July 16, 2025 after his long, courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Ken was born in Fort Collins, Colorado on April 14, 1938 to Gregory and Eva Lee Bueche who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by infant daughter, Laura Jean and in-laws Frances and James D’Ambrosia. Survived by his beloved wife of nearly 65 years, Bernice D’Ambrosia Bueche, children David (Debby), Brenda (Tim) Ash, Steve, Teresa (David) Kempfer, and Gina (Brian) Martin, 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Ken is also survived by his older brother, Don (Deirdre) and brother-in-law Jim (Kiki) D’Ambrosia and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ken graduated in 1956 from Ft. Collins High School and in 1960 from Colorado State University where his lifelong passion for government and family began when he met his future wife, Bernice, and served as Student Body President at the University.
After marrying Bernice, they spent two years in the U.S. Army at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma. Ken, Bernice, and their growing family moved to Boulder, CO where he obtained a Master of Public Administration degree and a law degree from the University of Colorado. In 1963, Ken began his career at the Colorado Municipal League, first as a graduate assistant, then as a law clerk, and later as general counsel. In 1974, he became the league’s executive director, a position he held for more than 30 years.
Ken and Bernice moved to Arvada in 1966, where they raised their family. A cherished husband, father, and servant of Christ, he lived a life defined by love, service, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. His deep faith was expressed through everyday life and work, which endeared him to all those who interacted with him. He will be greatly missed.
Public viewing starting at 5 PM with Vigil Service to follow at 5:30 PM on July 24th at Spirit of Christ Catholic Community in the chapel. Funeral Mass at 11 AM on July 25th at Spirit of Christ, 7400 West 80th Ave., Arvada, CO 80003. Luncheon reception to follow the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ken’s name to Arvada Community Table, Emmaus Catholic Hospice, or the Davis Phinney (Parkinson’s) Foundation.
