Kenneth D. Tafoya, known affectionately to all as Kenny, passed away on January 11, 2026, in his beloved hometown of Denver, Colorado, leaving behind a rich tapestry of memories and a legacy woven through the lives he touched. Born on November 8, 1962, Kenny embraced life with an energy that was infectious. As a master roofer, he dedicated over 40 years to the roofing industry, showcasing his craft with diligence and pride.
Kenny was more than just a tradesman; he was a man of many passions. He could often be found cruising the streets in his stylish 85 Cadillac El Dorado, music blaring, and a Coke in his hand. His adventurous spirit led him on journeys to salvage found items, always accompanied by his wicked sense of humor, which kept friends and family laughing. He had an innate ability to light up a room, often with a joke or a funny story, making even the simplest gathering feel special.
His love for karaoke showcased another facet of his vibrancy—his deep appreciation for music. Belting out classics like "Neon Moon" and other oldies, Kenny brought joy and laughter to the hearts of those who listened. He was an ardent fan of the Denver Broncos, sharing in the camaraderie of sports and the thrill of victory with those he loved.
Kenny's giving nature defined him; he was the kind of man who always put others first, no matter his own circumstances. His steadfast commitment to life’s joys and rewards was beautifully balanced by his dedication to personal goals, as evidenced he proudly participated in his annual fasting commitments abstaining from alcohol and smoking for 40 days during lent, without fail.
He leaves behind a loving family that includes his son Kenny (Monica), daughter Venessa (Robert), and his adoring granddaughters Adrianna and Nina, as well as grandsons Julian, Isaac, Fabian, Diego, and Jojo. He is also survived by his brothers Fred, Mike, and Chuck, and his sisters Brenda, Cherry, and Valerie, along with numerous nieces and nephews who will carry his spirit forward.
Kenny is reunited in spirit with his parents, David and Mary Tafoya, who have surely welcomed him with open arms. He will be deeply missed yet fondly remembered by all who knew him. His remarkable journey, marked by laughter, love, and an unwavering commitment to family, leaves a profound legacy that will resonate in the hearts of many for years to come.
