Laurel Parker Obituary

Laurel was born in Minot ND to Lawrence and Ester Bultman. She was the youngest of three. Sister Elizabeth and Sister Helen.
Her dad worked heavy construction so the family moved around a lot during her school years. After graduation Laurel worked at various job till she met and married Burt Eakin in 1952. From this marriage she had two son's. Ted in 1953 and Guy 1957.
In 1971 she went to work for US Forest Service. After a long and successful career she retired in 1994 as a Administrative Supervisor at Detroit Ranger District in Mill City, Or.
In 1983 while working on Boise Ranger District she met Tom Parker in Boise Id. They were married a year later in December 1984.
She and Tom enjoyed many adventures near and far. They took many cruises, trips to Mexico, New Zealand, Bahama's and more. She enjoyed many spontaneous local trips where a afternoon ride turned into a three day adventure. Living with Laurel gave a whole new meaning to be prepared. Laurel spent many many hours reading her favorite books and series. She was also a great lover of playing games on the computer.
Laurel gave the appearance of a stern and hard person on the surface but she was truly soft as a kitten inside. Always willing to help out if she saw hurt or need,
She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters
She is survived by her husband Tom (Loveland, Co), Son Ted (Salem, Or.), son Guy (Portland, Or.)
She is gone, but only in body. Laurel lives on in our fondest thoughts and memories.
A short memorial service will be help for her on Aug. 5, 2025 at 11:00 am at Viegut Funeral home.
