Linda Galus Obituary

Linda Ellen Galus, nee Dobberstine, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2025, at her Loveland home attended by her loving husband of 57 ½ years, Bernie Galus. At the time of her death, Linda was 77-years-old and was in home hospice care.
Born in Ord, Nebraska, on October 5, 1947 to Dave Dobberstine and (Opal) Marie Dobberstine (nee Behrends), Linda's family eventually settled in Omaha. One day after work at Brandeis Beauty Salon, Linda was introduced to Bernie at his cousin's house in Omaha. On January 20, 1968, Linda and Bernie were married on a warm winter day in Omaha at St. Paul's Catholic Church. They honeymooned in Denver and took the opportunity to visit Linda's brother, Gary, and his family, in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Linda and Bernie moved to Loveland, Colorado, in July of 1977 where they have lived ever since. Linda worked for 31 years as a cosmetologist at Loveland hair salons. She was also active in the antiques business where she was affectionately known as Aunt Lindy. Linda was a skilled counted-cross stitcher, frequent reader of Romance novels, and avid searcher of great deals at garage sales and antiques shows. She skillfully cooked ribeye steaks and delicious candy and holiday feasts. Her favorite activity of all was simply spending time at home.
Linda is survived by her husband Bernie, sister-in-law Bonnie and niece Sandy of Ft. Collins, nephews David of Loveland and Dane (Tammy) of Texas, cousins Lynne Kukas and Geri Damon (Ron) of Loveland, two grand-nephews in Texas, many distant cousins, and dear friends Chuck, Jim, Shirley, and so many others. Linda was a member of the First Christian Church in Loveland. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother.
To honor Linda's request, cremation has been completed and no services will be held.
