Lisa Mae Wyant, 59, passed away peacefully on August 23rd, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief illness. A devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and great-aunt, Lisa was known for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and deep love for her family.
Born on February 12, 1966, in Sioux City, Iowa, to the late Fred and Marlene Wyant, Lisa moved with her family to Aurora, Colorado in 1968 — the place she proudly called home for the rest of her life.
Lisa attended Aurora Public Schools and graduated from Gateway High School in 1984. Early in her career, she worked part-time at a daycare at First Assembly of God and briefly at a collection agency, before beginning what would become her life’s work at AORN (Association of periOperative Registered Nurses). Lisa recently celebrated 40 years with the organization, where she served as Executive Administrator to the CEO, Board of Directors & Nominating Committee. Her professionalism, dedication, and warm presence made her a beloved colleague and friend, and she was deeply respected throughout the organization.
Outside of work, Lisa found joy in the simple pleasures of life — family vacations, trips to the mountains, bowling, and going to the movies. She cherished family gatherings and treasured time spent with her many nieces and nephews. Her love of puzzles and games, and her bright, contagious smile, will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
Lisa is preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She is survived by her sisters Pam (Felix), Debbie (Gary), and Linda; her nephews Matt (Amanda), Steven (Alyssa), Michael, and Noah; and her nieces Leslie, Tara, Lindsey (Thomas), Sarah, Hope, and Mariah.
Lisa lived a joyful life, grateful for the love of her family and the friendships she held dear. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and love that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
