With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Michael Emmet Doherty (66), beloved husband and father. Most recently of Littleton, Colorado, he died Wednesday November 19th at his home. He was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, to the late Mary (Murphy) and Robert Doherty on March 20th, 1959. He married Maryse (Darrouzès) Doherty in 1985, and they lived happily together for 40 years as life brought them from Ontario, Canada, to Utah, Arizona, and Colorado. Michael is survived by his wife, Maryse, his son, Aidan (Samantha Wilber), and his siblings; Kevin (Sue Codispoti), Thomas (Patricia Ledgett), Coleen (Irwin Kastner), and Brendan (Lucy Pavone). He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Michael worked for many years as a Construction Superintendent for Layton Construction where he contributed to the successful completion of major building projects. Outside of work he loved to travel, especially cruising, having visited multiple continents and countries. An avid sports fan, he faithfully followed the Toronto Blue Jays, Buffalo Bills, and Arizona Cardinals. He also loved music, with favorites being Bruce Springsteen and John Lennon.
A private family viewing will be held on December 8th from 3:30pm - 4:30pm at Newcomer Funeral Home West Metro Chapel in Lakewood Colorado, followed by cremation services.
