Myra Ann Galligan (née Carr), age 82, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, in Denver, Colorado. A devoted mother, grandmother, and wife, Myra lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering love for her family.
Born on November 11, 1943, in Newcastle, Wyoming to Myron and Evelyn Carr. Myra was raised with strong values that would guide her throughout her life. She graduated from Newcastle High School and went on to attend the University of Wyoming. She eventually moved Denver, Colorado and laid the foundation for a life of thoughtful service and dedication.
Myra married Richard Galligan, with whom she shared many years of companionship and devotion until his passing. Together they built a loving home and raised two children: a daughter, Kelly, and a son, Chris. Myra’s role as a mother was one she cherished deeply. Her nurturing spirit extended to her grandchildren—Brennen, Brian, and Andrew—who brought immense joy to her later years.
A devout Catholic throughout her life, Myra was an active parishioner at Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church. Her faith was not only a personal compass but also a source of community connection. She frequently volunteered at the church, offering her time and energy in service to others with humility and grace.
Myra found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a deep affection for dogs and spent countless hours tending to her garden—a space that reflected both her care and patience. She took pride in maintaining her home, creating an environment filled with warmth and comfort for those she loved. Volunteering remained an important part of her life beyond the church as well; she gave generously of herself wherever there was need.
Those who knew Myra will remember her as reserved yet deeply loving—a woman whose quiet presence offered strength and reassurance. Her legacy lives on through the lives she touched with kindness and steadfast care.
A Rosary and mass will be held on January 27, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Our Lady of Loreto Catholic Church 18000 E. Arapahoe Rd. A Burial will be held on January 27, 2026, from 01:30 PM to 02:00 PM at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery 12801 W. 44th Ave.
