Nancy Kandel Obituary

Kandel
Nancy (Bozievich ) Kandel
July 1, 1935
September 29, 2023

Nancy B. Kandel, 88, went home to the Lord on September 29, 2023 in Parker, Colorado. She was born July 1, 1935 to John and Marie Bozievich in Bethesda, Maryland.

In her life she was very proud of the four children that she and her husband, Dr. George E. Kandel, raised together. They are George E. Kandel, Jr., Beth Collins Hebner, Douglas Milton Kandel and Suzanne Kandel Metheny. She was also blessed with eight grandchildren, Brittany, Allyson, Tyler, Lindsey, Sarah, Spencer, Lexi and Olivia. She has one great-grandchild, Bode.

Upon graduation from Chevy Chase High School, Nancy attended The University of Georgia. This is where she met the love of her life, George E. Kandel. Nancy and George traveled the world during George's career in the US Air Force. After moving to Colorado Nancy joined George in his medical practice working in the front office. George always said his life with Nancy was never boring.

Nancy was a fantastic mother devoted to raising her children. Her other activities included President of the Medical Wives Group for Denver and various Board positions, including fund raising. She was also active in Opera Colorado with Board positions on that group. Her hobbies included art, painting, skiing, knitting, and reading.

She also felt blessed by the spouses her children brought into the family. They are Mark Hebner, Rita Kandel and Mark Metheny. Most of all, she loved her role as "Nana" to her grandchildren and she enjoyed so much the summer beach trips and winter ski trips they would all take together with the whole family.

Nancy's memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 20, 2023 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 8035 S Quebec St, Centennial, CO 80112. A reception will follow at the church.

Please remember her in your prayers and know that she hopes to see you again with the Lord. In the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Amen.

A lovely person. June and I bought their house in Colorado Springs in 1987. Interestingly, in the 1990s, I connected with son-in-law Mark Hebner when he was looking for a statistical consultant. He recognized my address.

Nancy, you always had a fun story to share, and you always made me laugh! Thank You for all of the fun times at the games; I cherish those memories. Thank You for Kappa, for the etiquette coaching, for the skiing, for being such a great friend of the family. I will miss you and your huge personality! Wish I could hug you one last time. Go and be with the Lord, now. Go give George a kiss. Lots of love. -Angela
