Phillip Amador Obituary
Phillip attended Lester Arnold High School and Adams City High School, where he likely began to develop his lifelong love for basketball. His career was as diverse as his interests; he started with an electrician apprenticeship, moved on to become a Weed and Control Technician for celebrities on the Western Slope, and even had the pleasure of meeting Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn through his work. Additionally, Phillip held various positions at a local Walmart, worked at a Brewpub in Glenwood Springs, and was part of a caring moving company in the area. He was great with his hands, which made him the kind of person people were glad to have around when something needed fixing, moving, building, maintaining, or simply getting done right.
An avid sports enthusiast, Phillip was the sort of man who seemed to be in constant motion, and not just because he was athletic and in excellent physical condition. He loved to play basketball, hike, and ride his bike, and he could make even the most ordinary day feel like an adventure. He also enjoyed swimming in the hot springs daily, which sounds peaceful until you realize he probably treated it like a recovery session after outrunning the rest of the world. Phillip was also very active, involved uncle who would take his two nephews on bike ride or to the park when visiting his family. He loved to play the harmonica and draw, and he brought the same personality to those hobbies that he brought to everything else: genuine, spirited, and a little bit mischievous in the best way. He was adventurous, funny, and friendly, and those qualities showed up in everything he did. Those who knew Phillip appreciated his ability to make people laugh and his knack for never judging others, instead offering a comforting and spiritually uplifting presence.
Phillip's time here with his loved ones reflects a life rooted in Colorado's wide-open spaces and active spirit. He seemed to belong wherever there was fresh air, a good view, or a reason to keep moving. He made his mark through hard work, humor, and the kind of friendly presence that turns ordinary moments into stories people tell later.
Phillip is survived by his children: Desmond Paul Amador, Jayden Lee Amador, Na'Leah Marie Amador, and Johnathan William Tin Reeves. He is also survived by his parents: mother, Donna Marie Reidenbach (stepfather Chuck Lee Reidenbach); and father, Robert Amador (stepmother Valerie Amador). His memory will be cherished by his siblings, Susan Kay Amador (nephews Victor Evan Hernandez and Adam Elias Hernandez) and Michael Paul Amador (sister-in-law Renee Amador), as well as his grandmother, Elaine Amador.
