Richard Green Obituary

Richard W. Green, affectionatly known as Rich, was born on December 25, 1944, in Denver, Colorado, a place that became the backdrop of a life rich in love and commitment. He passed unexpectedly with his wife Lena and Daughter Yvonne on December 3, 2025, leaving behind a legacy woven with memories and a deep, enduring devotion to his family.

For over fifty years, Rich dedicated himself to a distinguished career in banking, having retired twice—first from Chase Bank and later from Cobiz. His passion for his work was matched only by his commitment to his family, which always came first. He was the heart of the home, embodying the qualities of a loving provider, protective father, and a source of unwavering support. Known for his outgoing personality and characteristic humor, Rich was a man who could light up any room he entered, welcoming everyone with open arms and a hearty laugh. Upon his retirement Rich always looked forward to spending quality time with his golf buddies and his close personal friends. Often they would have lunch get togethers which were treasured greatly by Rich.

Rich graduated from South High School in 1963 and furthered his education at Metro State College, but he found his true calling in the relationships he built and maintained throughout his life. He was the man with all the answers. His love for dining out was rivaled only by his fondness for leisurely vacations, particularly his cherished trips to Arizona, which he considered his second home. Rich had a zest for life, with hobbies that included elk hunting with friends and annual golf trips, and he had a special place in his heart for the Denver Broncos.

Rich’s adventurous spirit thrived as he traveled, with one of his most treasured memories being his trip to Japan where he participated in the first annual senior tour. Those who knew him can surely recall him enjoying, listening to music, cheeseburgers and sharing stories that warmed the heart.

He is survived by his beloved wife Lena, with whom he shared 53 wonderful years of marriage, and his daughters Pam (Leonard), Yvonne (Dan), and Kerri (Scott), who carry forward the values of love and family that Rich instilled in them. Rich’s legacy extends to his grandchildren: Tyler (Shavon), Tess (Tyler), Shawn, Hayden, and Chloe, along with his great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Zoey, and Emily. Each of them holds a piece of his heart, cherished and remembered in their own unique ways.

Rich was preceded in death by his loving parents, Wayne and Doris, whose nurturing undoubtedly laid the foundation for the incredible man he became.

His presence will be profoundly missed, but the memories he created with those he loved will forever warm their hearts.
