Rilla Roberts Obituary

Rilla Maurene Roberts, affectionately known as Maurene, was a beacon of generosity and warmth in the lives of many. Born on August 21, 1940, in Denver, she spent her life radiating love and kindness until her peaceful passing on November 15, 2025, in Arvada, Colorado, surrounded by her beloved family.

Maurene's heart knew no bounds. She was a nurturing spirit who opened her home to foreign exchange students and international families, guiding them through their transitions and integrations into new lives. Her efforts were a testament to her big-hearted nature, as she consistently reached out to help anyone in need. An extremely caring individual, Maurene lived her life embodying the values of love and compassion, deeply rooted in her faith.

Throughout her life, she cherished her family, taking immense pride in her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Maurene is survived by her daughters, Cheryl (Randy) and Suzanne (Terry), and her son, Robert (Toni), each of whom carry her legacy of love forward. She was a proud grandmother to Brandi, Amanda, Ashley, Allen, David, and Jeff, and she took joy in the laughter and playfulness of her 12 great-grandchildren. Maurene is also survived by her sister, Carol, and brother-in-law, Art, who share in the sorrow of her departure.

Among her proudest accomplishments was her enduring marriage of 40 years to her late husband, Chuck Roberts, who proposed to her at their senior prom. Their bond was a beautiful testament to enduring love. Maurene lovingly raised her children, instilling in them values that would guide them throughout their lives. In her later working years, she earned a payroll certification, showcasing her dedication and determination even as life changed around her.

Outside her family commitments, Maurene had an array of hobbies and interests that filled her heart with joy. She loved children and pets alike, finding happiness in their innocent spirits. The mountains held a special place in her heart; whether she was driving through the scenic paths or camping beneath the stars, her adventurous spirit thrived. A gifted seamstress, Maurene's creations were expressions of her creativity, often shared with those she loved.

Maurene’s memory will be honored by friends and family during a visitation on November 24, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM at Highland Baptist Church and a burial at Olinger Crown Hill Cemetery at 3:00 PM. A gathering will continue at Highland Baptist Church beginning at 4:00 PM allowing loved ones to celebrate a life that touched so many.

The impact of Rilla Maurene Roberts, who lived with a sweet disposition and a loving spirit, will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, kindness, and unwavering love that will resonate through the generations to come.
