Robert Brinkman Obituary

Robert Frederick Brinkman (Bob), of Denver, Colorado passed away peacefully on May 31, 2025 in his home, with his family near his side. Bob was born April 24,1939 to Fred and Rosette Brinkman of Denver, Colorado. He was baptized, confirmed and attended Emmaus Lutheran Church/School in Denver. He attended Denver North High School before enlisting in the Marine Corps and moving to California. He was stationed at Camp Pendelton where he served in a specialized guard unit. He was trained in weapons, team combat, and military leadership. He was a proud Marine throughout his life.
It was during his military service that he met his wife, Marlene Westbrook, a Navy WAVE. They were married in August of 1958 at Emmaus Lutheran Church and resided in the Denver area throughout their marriage. They had three daughters; Deborah, Laura, and Tamara.
Bob studied engineering at CU Denver until he began work at Gates Rubber Company where he worked until retiring in 1988. During his time at Gates he was a union leader and steward. Upon his retirement Bob worked as a Realtor for numerous brokerages including; Century 21, Frontier/Better Homes and Gardens, Coldwell Banker, and Sterling Real Estate. He received numerous accommodations for his proficiency and excellence in listing and sales.
Bob was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He raised and trained German Shorthaired Pointers and Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. He was a member of numerous hunting clubs including Senate Gun Club, RMA Rod and Gun Club, Centennial Duck Club, Wings Unlimited and Indian Meadows. He also enjoyed his luncheons with Coopers Troopers, where he could reminisce with military comrades.
Among Bob's hobbies and interests he was a creator and inventor, wood worker, and gardener. In his early years he built "hot rods" and worked in all phases of construction and home remodeling. He tied his own fishing flies, loaded his own shotgun shells, and spent weekends taking his family on fishing and camping trips throughout Colorado.
Bob is proceeded in death by his parents Fred and Rosette Brinkman (Denver, CO), his sister Sheila Putnam (Denver, CO), and his brother Kenneth Brinkman (South St. Paul, MN). He is survived by his wife of nearly 67 years, Marlene (Westbrook) Brinkman, his daughters; Deborah Brinkman of Littleton, CO, Laura Brinkman (John Sweeny) of Denver, CO, Tamara Brinkman (Kenney) (Joe Fountain)) of Callahan, FL and his grandchildren; Chadd Kenney of Silverthorne, CO, and Callie Kenney of Denver, CO.
Funeral services will be August 15, 2025 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Denver, CO. Followed by final honors at Ft Logan Cemetery, Denver, CO.
Please wear blue to the funeral services, as it was Robert's favorite color.
In lieu of flowers, we would like to have all donations sent to Tunnel to Towers Foundation for Bob Brinkman.

To the family of Robert. I am Robert's cousin. Fred, Reinholdt, and Gustave, Walter, Arnold were my grand uncles. My father, Edwin W., Jr., was son of their brother Edwin Sr. Lucille Brinkmann just learned of cousin Robert's passing and sent me a FB msg. So sorry for your loss.
