Robert Ferris Obituary

Robert Rice “Bob” Ferris, of Arvada, Colorado, passed away peacefully on
March 5, 2026, at the age of 95.

Born on June 18, 1930, Bob grew up in south Denver and attended South
High School. He went on to graduate from the University of Denver,
proudly becoming a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. After serving on
active duty in the United States Air Force, Bob returned to DU to
complete his studies—where he met the love of his life, Edith Ann “Edie”
Ferris. Their connection was immediate and enduring, and together they
built a marriage that lasted 62 years, filled with partnership,
laughter, and unwavering devotion.

Bob dedicated more than 20 years to the Jefferson County Public Schools,
where he served in a wide range of leadership roles, including
principal, elementary personnel coordinator, elementary level director,
area administrator, and ultimately North Area Superintendent.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Edie, his daughter Becky
Ann Stearns, and his sister Margaret Smith.

Bob is survived by his son Paul Ferris and daughter in law Kimberly, who
brought him immense pride. His legacy continues through his grandsons
Christopher (Tori) and Connor (Megan), and through his cherished
great granddaughters Braelynn and Rylee.

Bob will be interred at Fort Logan National Cemetery.
