Ronald Lee “Ron” Meyer, 82, of Golden, Colorado, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 14, 2025. He was the son of Roy and Gertrude Meyer. He witnessed the passing of his sister, Coleen, and is survived by his brother, Russ Meyer. Born December 1, 1942, in Hastings, Nebraska, Ron’s life was marked by devotion to his family, unshakable faith, and a spirit of generosity that touched everyone he met.
From his upbringing on a Nebraska farm to his many years in Golden, Ron’s story is one of determination and heart. After serving his country with pride as a United States Marine, Ron married the love of his life, Joan. Together, they raised three sons—Nick, Greg, and Kevin—instilling in them not only strength of body and mind but also a deep-rooted faith in Jesus.
Ron’s tall presence and welcoming personality endeared him to all. Friends and family alike remember him as a man quick with a warm smile, always ready to lend a hand, and never short on wisdom or encouragement. His fierce love for Joan was evident in all he did, and together they built a legacy of faith and family.
A longstanding career at Coors Brewery provided for his family, but Ron was never defined solely by his work. He found great peace and joy in the simplicity of fishing, appreciating the quiet beauty of nature and the promise of each new day.
Throughout his life, Ron’s greatest defining trait was his steadfast belief in prayer and his commitment to living out his faith. He inspired those around him to do the same, and his influence will live on in those who knew and loved him.
Part of the legacy he has left behind also includes his sons, their wives and 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
Though Ron has now exchanged his cross for a crown, his memory and the strength of his love will forever remain in the hearts of his beloved wife Joan and their sons.
Funeral Services will be held 11am, Friday, September 19, 2025 at Hillside Community Church, 103 N. Ford Street in Golden. Interment is planned for Saturday, September 20 at the Fish and Cross Ranch in Yampa, CO.
