Sharon Pease Obituary

Sharon Anne Pease, age 82, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at The Village at Belmar in Lakewood, Colorado.

Sharon was born on October 10, 1943, in Mexico, Missouri, to the Gerdes family. She grew up with strong Midwestern values that stayed with her all her life.

Sharon was strong, chatty, loving, hospitable, and adventurous. She had a gift for making people feel welcome the moment they walked into a room. Her smile and her sass will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

Her greatest joy was her family. She loved her daughters with all her heart. Sharon also loved classical music, singing in the choir, cooking wonderful Midwestern meals, and traveling to many countries. A special joy for her was visiting Italy and enjoying the music of the great classical composers. Her Christian faith was very important to her, and she was part of the Presbyterian tradition. She loved Jesus and lived out her faith through kindness and service.

Sharon worked as a social worker and was proud of helping people through her work with Medicaid and government programs. She believed in fairness, hard work, education, faith, and putting family first.

She was also known for being an excellent card player — and everyone around her knew when she was losing.

Sharon was previously married for 25 years to Charles Allen Pease. He passed away on November 22, 2024.

She is survived by her daughters, Julie of Denver, Colorado, and Jaclyn of Sacramento, California; and her beloved grandchildren, Mykala, Micah, and Hannah.

She was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Kendall Gerdes, who passed away at the end of 2022.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. (doors open at 9:30 a.m.) at Red Rocks Church Arvada, 7100 Wadsworth Blvd, Arvada, CO 80003. A lunch reception at a local restaurant will follow, with details to be announced.

Sharon’s life was a blessing, her love was a gift, and her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
