Starr Blanchard Obituary

Starr Denise Blanchard passed peacefully into her Savior's arms Thursday morning after a long battle with cancer. She was born in Lombard, Illinois, on April 3, 1958. Starr graduated from Glenbard East High School in Lombard in 1976 and later graduated with honors and an associate's degree from Aims Community College in Greeley, Colorado, in 2001.

From an early age, Starr was involved with the VFW as a Buddy Poppy Girl and marched in parades as a baton twirler. She remained a devoted member of the organization throughout her life.

Starr will be remembered for her artistic spirit, her love of animals which included beekeeping, her involvement with Habitat for Humanity, her enjoyment of line dancing, and, most of all, the love she had for her family as a grandmother and mother. She was hardworking, unafraid of physical labor, and deeply committed to providing for her children.

She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her, and her memory will be carried forward in the lives she touched.

Starr is preceded in death by her father and mother Ralph and Martha Magerkurth (McGlynn), brother Steven Magerkuth, and son-in-law Dylan Morris. She is survived by her brothers and sister Edward Magerkurth (Donna), Dawn Magerkurth, and Ralph Magerkurth Jr. (Robert Arado), her children Kari Blanchard, Kate Fredrickson (Brandon), Kacy Blanchard (Chase Knox), Kellie Mansfield-Morris, Michael Mansfield (Brianne), and her many grandchildren Marek, Ashlynn, Caroline, Gabe, Latham, June, Lucy, Severin, Gracyn, Leo, and Fletcher.

For those interested in joining to remember Starr, there will be a memorial service at New Freedom Outreach Center inside Cornerstone Café (250 Mountain Ave Berthoud, CO 80513), 10am on April 3rd, 2026.
