Susan Marie Drews (nee Behne) was an outgoing woman who never met a stranger. She delighted in wildlife conservation efforts at her church, Unity of Wimberley, Texas. She also loved sharing home baked treats and taking pictures of birds, flowers, and church events. Her home reflected her playful spirit, filled with a startlingly large, much loved collection of cat figurines, cookie cutters, and cake pans, and her garden was a favorite place to watch hummingbirds and tend to flowers.
Born May 29, 1947 in Houston, Texas, Susan is survived by her daughter, Angela Patterson, and her granddaughter, Fi Patterson, who were the center of her world. Her family moved to Brenham, Texas when she was 12. She lived in several places around Texas, including Hitchcock, Katy, and Kyle, and spent her last few years in Arvada, Colorado to be with Angela and Fi. She was married to and divorced from Roger Drews, who predeceased her in 2024. Susan suffered from dementia for many years and died of natural causes on March 6, 2026 at 78 years old.
A funeral service will be conducted at Newcomer Funeral Home in Lakewood, Colorado on March 23, 2026.
