Suzanne Wilson Obituary

Suzanne Wilson, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished educator, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on January 10, 1933, Suzanne lived a vibrant life, filled with passion for music, teaching, and nurturing the beauty of her surroundings.

A proud graduate of Denver University, where she earned her Masters in Music, Suzanne dedicated over 50 years of her life to education. Her teaching journey began in Montbello, later continuing at Steck Elementary. She was a constant presence in the lives of her students, inspiring countless young minds throughout her remarkable career, and even served as a substitute teacher in Douglas County for several more years.

Suzanne was known for her spirited personality; she was a true spitfire, determined and independent, always insisting that things be done her way. This fierce determination endeared her to many and left a lasting impact on those she encountered. Beyond her professional life, Suzanne brought her vibrant energy home, where she found joy in her beloved cats and the tender moments shared with her family.

An avid gardener, Suzanne delighted in maintaining her garden and had a deep love for flowers; they brought her immense joy and were a reflection of her radiant spirit. Moreover, her competitive nature shone through on the tennis court, where she played until her 80s, embracing each match with passion and enthusiasm.

Suzanne is survived by her devoted daughter, Cynthia Stone-Coryell, and her adoring granddaughters, Tameryn Coryell and Taryn Coryell, who will carry her spirit forward with love and fond memories. She is predeceased by her beloved spouse, Dee Vern Wilson, whose love she cherished deeply.

As we celebrate Suzanne's life, we remember a woman who was not only a remarkable educator and passionate gardener but also a loving mother and grandmother. She taught those around her about the beauty of resilience, the importance of following one’s passions, and the joy that can be found in both life's simple pleasures and great adventures. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who loved her, and she will be profoundly missed.
