Therril Tucker Obituary

Therril Jay Tucker, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away at the age of 86 on December 6, 2025, in his home in Aurora, Colorado, surrounded by his loving family. Born on November 13, 1939, in Clausen, Utah, Therril lived a life filled with service, laughter, and dedication to those he cherished most.

A proud veteran, Therril dedicated 20 years to the United States Air Force, an experience that shaped him profoundly and instilled in him qualities of leadership, commitment, and resilience. His sense of humor earned him the affectionate nickname "Master Sergeant Whatchmacallit," a moniker that encapsulated his funny, jokester personality.

Therril had an illustrious career spanning 20 years in Telecommunications with AT&T, where his contributions were appreciated by both colleagues and customers alike. In addition, he fulfilled a deep calling by serving as a Temple Worker in the Denver Temple for 10 years, which brought him great joy and fulfillment.

Family was everything to Therril. He took great pride in providing for and caring for his devoted wife, Caran McInelly Tucker. Together, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Therril and Caran raised a beautiful family that includes their daughters Carol Grattan (Doug), Marie Agee (Bill), Tammy Tucker (Andrew Drew), and Penny Christensen (Jeff), along with their sons Marvin Tucker (Rebecca) and Melvin Tucker. Each one of them reflects his legacy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Therril's love for the outdoors led to cherished family camping trips throughout the years, memories that will forever live on in the hearts of his loved ones. He enjoyed fishing, football, and simply being surrounded by nature, frequently bringing joy to those around him with his caring heart and warm spirit.

Therril's proudest accomplishment was undoubtedly his family. He was a dedicated husband, nurturing father, and loving grandfather to his grandchildren. His bonds with them were strong, particularly with his late grandson Kyle Therril Tucker.

Therril's legacy will also be preserved in the memories of his parents, Jesse Lee and Mable Tucker, and his brothers, Lee and Charles Tucker, all of whom have passed on. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Caran, six loving children, 24 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren, and his sister, Sharon Mason (Steve Mason).

His funeral will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Flanders Building on December 18, 2025.

As we celebrate the life of Therril Jay Tucker, we remember his warmth, kindness, and laughter that touched the lives of so many. He leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and countless joyful memories that will continue to inspire all who knew him.
