Thomas Jay Hassell, age 72, died in Hospice care on May 11, 2024. He was born in Pueblo on December 29th, 1951, and grew up in Denver and Commerce City. He was a graduate of Adams City High School where he played football and wrestled. His first job was at King Soopers where he worked until retirement. Tom married Josie Ochoa on September 4th, 1977, after meeting her on a blind date in February of the same year. Tom enjoyed woodworking, landscaping, and his family. He loved spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren above anything else.
Tom is survived by his wife Josie, his daughter Kelli Herndon (BJ), son Thomas Hassell (Stacey), daughter Jennifer Hull (Philip), son Kristopher Hassell (Sabrina); twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren and a brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Billie and brother Gary.
A memorial service will take place at The Crossing Church of the Nazarene at 3501 W. 104th Ave, Westminster CO on Wednesday, May 29th at 11:00 am. A luncheon will be served for all attending in the lower level of the church immediately following the service.
