Toni Tignor Mufford (Kiernan), of Broomfield, Colorado, passed away at her home on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at the age of 52. Toni was born on September 28, 1973, in Englewood, Colorado, to John Forrest and Virginia Ellen (Mathes) Tignor.
She was raised in Boulder, Colorado, and graduated from Fairview High School. In 2006, Toni earned her Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology from the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology.
Toni had a deep love for the outdoors and cherished the time she spent in nature, especially in Colorado and Montana. She found joy in the beauty of the mountains and the simple moments spent outside. Above all else, Toni loved her family and friends dearly, and her greatest pride and happiness in life was her beloved son, Ellis.
Toni is survived by her husband, Michael Kiernan of Broomfield; her son, Ellis Mufford of Broomfield; her sisters, Tina (Doug) Reeves and Teri Tignor (Brian) Stillmunkes; her brother, Tim Tignor; and many extended family members and loved ones in Colorado and beyond.
The family has confirmed that Toni’s memorial service will take place at St. John’s Episcopal Church, located at 1419 Pine Street, Boulder, CO 80302 (www.stjohnsboulder.org), on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with a reception to follow at the same location. Because it is unknown how many people may attend, the family has arranged to hold the memorial at the church to ensure there is space to accommodate everyone who wishes to gather and honor Toni’s life.
For those who wish to offer additional support to Toni’s family during this difficult time, donations may be made through the GoFundMe page created in her honor: https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-for-tonis-family-in-their-time-of-loss.
