Troy Alexander Bird, 62, of Westminster, Colorado passed away March 15, 2026.

Troy was born in Lamar Colorado on October 18, 1963 to Carl Shefferd and Helen Dreyer. He spent time in several foster homes prior to being placed in the Turner home at age 8 where he was introduced to his adoptive parents on the occasion of their wedding. He moved to the home of Robert and Bonita Bird at age eleven with his adoption as our Beloved Son finalized August 24,1976.

Troy completed a diploma in computer technology from Barnes Business College and went on to serve in the United States Air Force as a Dental Assistant Specialist at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska. After his honorable discharge, he began 32 years of service at the United States Postal Service.

Troy married Vicky Kaiser August 20, 2007 and became an instant grandpa. He enjoyed family life and was generous with love and provision. He took his responsibilities seriously and played by restoring cars and trucks.

Troy was preceded in death by Grandparents Cecil and May Bird of Salina, Kansas and William and Bonnie Turner of Lamar, Colorado.

Troy is survived by his wife Vicky Bird, parents Robert and Bonita Bird, Siblings Ryan (Roz White) Bird, Kendra (Jonathan) Dailey, Ira Bird, and Matt Pratt. Stepchildren Kerri (Kat), Brett (Jana), Kathy (Shane), and Krista (Kyle) and 12 grandchildren in whom he delighted; Amber, Jake, Michael, Kiley, Cambree, Coco, Madison, Megan, Mya, Logan, Violet, and Carlos and 3 great grandchildren Brynlee, Grayson, and Atlas. Nieces and Nephews Isaiah, Shiloh, Cleopatra, Lorelei, Zachary, and Andrea.

Special acknowledgement to the connection he shared with many biological and foster siblings as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.

Interment for Troy Bird will be at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colorado. Thursday, April 16,2026, 10 a.m.. (vehicle RED staging area at 9:45a.m.) A memorial service will follow at Altitude Church, 6550 Wadsworth Blvd. Arvada, CO 80003 at 12 p.m.

A memorial gathering will be held at Staunton State Park,12102 So Elk Creek Rd. (exit off 285.) Saturday, April 18, 2026 at the Davis Ponds Day use area, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch at noon, bring a side to share and water/drinks.
