Marco Augustine Parisi, Jr.
Feb. 15, 1929 - Sept. 29, 2023
LIVINGSTON - Marco Augustine Parisi, Jr., 94, passed away before the sun came up on the beautiful fall day of September 29, 2023.
Marco was born on February 15, 1929, in Livingston to Marco A. Parisi, Sr. and Natalina (Indendi) Parisi. He lived his whole life in Livingston, other than the two years he spent in the Army stationed in Germany during the Korean conflict and the last few years residing in assisted living in Helena and Great Falls.
Upon Honorable Discharge from the Army, Marco returned to work at the Northern Pacific RR where he had started as a teenager. Then working for the Burlington Northern RR until retirement in 1987 after 41 years. He began his employment with the railroad as an electrician's helper and went on to become an overhead crane operator in the back shops.
Marco married Dorothy Gornick on December 12, 1953, and they began their life together of 66 years until Dorothy's passing in 2019. When Marco retired, Dorothy wanted to do some traveling and though he wasn't too keen on leaving Livingston, he reluctantly went on a few trips. Home was always best for him. Marco loved fishing and hunting. He was a master at smoking the fish and making wild game sausage. Many folks enjoyed partaking of those talents. Often Marco could be found in his garage where he could repair and build almost anything, including overhauling and rebuilding auto engines. He had a soft spot for all dogs and also enjoyed looking for mushrooms.
Marco was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; his parents; and ten siblings: Tony, Evelyn, Virginia, Jenny, Emanuella, Adeline, John, Geraldine, Caroline, and Martin (his twin). He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Pam Parisi; grandchildren: Beau (Miranda) Parisi, and Autumn (Eric) Schwenk; also his great-grandchildren: Delaney, Beckett and Rhys Marco Parisi, Colbie and Jacob Schwenk; along with many nieces and nephews.
A combined celebration of life Open House for Marco and Dorothy will be held from 1:30 - 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the Parisi's, 1410 Madison Avenue, Helena.
